Red Ranger vs. Green Lantern - Part 1

It has been a difficult time for the Red Goseiger. Having to protect the entire Earth is not an easy job. Especially not in the last couple of weeks. An unusual string of monster attacks have kept the Rangers busy. None bore this burden more than the leader of the team, the Red Ranger. Born as a special humans, the Goseigers or "Gosei Angels",  have powers stemming from an ancient branch of the human race. This makes them great fighters and have allowed them to fight any monster that has tried to invade Earth.

However, the recent unusual frequency of attacks have left the team weakened. Their powers have been stretched to the limit. Luckily, there has been a lull in the attacks and that has allowed the team to finally take a well deserved rest. In order to recharge their energies, they took some individual time off.

"Finally, a day off! I have to recharge my batteries!" exclaimed the Red Ranger. In his private room, he got ready to power down and take a long nap. "I don't think I can even fight another monster right now. Good thing they seem to have let up a bit." Without further talk, he fell right asleep.

A well deserved rest...

 But unbeknownst to him, another presence sneaked into the room. A mysterious figure clad in a skin tight costume bearing the mark of a green ring circled the ranger in his sleep. Mumbling to himself something about sensing "special life force". The normally sensitive ranger did not even sense his presence. With a swift lunge, the figure attacked the passed out Red Ranger on his bed.

A mysterious attacker takes the Red Ranger by surprise...

 "What?!" the Red Ranger cried out.

"Your life force will be mine!" yelled the attacker.

A struggle ensued as both figures wrestled for control. The Red Ranger, still weak, was at a severe disadvantage and struggled to get the upper hand. The attacker seemed really strong and was clearly not an ordinary person. A strange green glow emanated from his suit but the Red Ranger was unsure what to make of it. He had enough trouble just trying not to get pinned down.

The battle waged on but the Red Ranger felt he was losing ground...

 Slowly but surely, the Red Ranger was using the last of his powers. The attacker was strong willed and attacked fresh while the hero was vulnerable. With every passing minute, the struggle was more and more difficult for the Red Ranger. He felt more and more weak and was unable to keep up with the strength of the aggressor. The green attacker started locking the ranger in precarious positions. The Red Ranger struggled but to no avail. It was clear that he was fighting a losing battle.

Beginning to feel outmatched...

 After a long and intense struggle, the Red Ranger's powers gave up. He felt completely weak. The combination of fighting monsters and this sudden attack was too much for him. While his connection with the Angel world was still intact, it was no longer providing him with the energy he needed. He had just enough energy left to keep himself morphed and not return to an ordinary state. Spent from the struggle, he collapsed and lay helpless on the bed.

Without any energy left, the Red Ranger collapses in a feeble state...

 "Now I have you...and soon your powers will be mine..."

"Who are you...? What do you want from me...?"

"You will know soon, Red Ranger. Soon..."
